Timken Co. has overhauled its Timkeninfo.com electronic catalog and search function to make it easier and faster for customers to find the right truck replacement parts and application information for their fleets. It has also added new social media links, in the form of a Twitter feed and a Facebook page.

Barry Harris, Timken's manager of global products and marketing for the automotive and heavy-duty aftermarket, said the company’s revamped website offers additional content and service details often requested by users, including a new “distributor locator” and an upgraded “knowledge center” that provides resources to educate customers on how to install, maintain and replace Timken parts.

"We understand our customers' time is valuable," he said "But when it comes to finding exactly the right parts, it's also a matter of money, inventory, performance and safety, above all. These imperatives continue to drive us in creating user-friendly features.”

Timken is also addressing its growing social media base via Twitter feed and Facebook to makes it easier for engineers, customers and colleagues to interact on topics of mutual interest, said Harris.

"Through regular news, updates and engaging content, we want to make the Timken Automotive Aftermarket Facebook page and Twitter feed a must-share destination for technicians, enthusiasts and distributors," he noted. "With this targeted social media effort, we're opening up communication across channels with our customers to connect on every level."
