Glacier Computer, a new Milford, CT-based provider of rugged computing solutions, has begun shipping its new Ridgeline T100 tablet computer. The company said it will be offering customers in the warehouse, freight and field-service markets the Ridgeline T100 for mobile computing functions in challenging environments and said the device is optimized for data-collection applications including shop floor, customer service, and freight operations.
The Ridgeline T100 uses Microsoft’s popular Windows CE operating system, which GLlacier said is ideal for operations running terminal emulation, HTML, and intranet applications. Windows CE allows for long battery life, instant on/off, and minimal solid-state hard drive needs, the company noted.
The Ridgeline T100 boasts a bright, 8.4” color LCD display with resistive touchscreen. Wireless communication via integrated 802.11 radio and Bluetooth allow users to move freely within the organization while remaining connected to the network and peripherals, said Glacier, which pointed out a sealed IP54 housing, multiple I/O, and hot swap battery function make the Glacier T100 tablet suitable for workers requiring portability and ready access to critical data.
