The Research and Innovative Technology Administration (RITA) has launched a new website to promote the goals of the IntelliDrive program, combining wireless communications, on-board computer processing, vehicle sensors, GPS navigation, smart infrastructure and other technologies to identify threats and hazards on the roadway.

IntelliDrive identifies and transmits the real-time data over wireless networks to safety and mobility applications, giving drivers a greater situational awareness of the roadway and allowing them to make better and safer decisions when behind the wheel, RITA said.
