ACT Expo recently announced its 2026 speaker roster and confirmed that John Smith, incoming president and CEO of FedEx Freight, will deliver the opening keynote at the conference, taking place May 4–7 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Smith’s keynote will kick off four days of programs focused on commercial transportation operations, digital systems, automation, and lower-carbon fleet strategies. During his session, Smith will discuss how large-scale LTL networks are using data, predictive analytics, and automation to improve capacity management and service reliability, as well as how carriers are balancing cost discipline with technology investment.
“The LTL industry is being reshaped by rising expectations for speed, reliability, and visibility, and at FedEx Freight, we know a lot of that starts with the truck,” Smith stated. “We’re continually refining our operations and working towards a safer and more efficient fleet. I’m eager to share what we’re learning and where we see opportunities for the industry as a whole at ACT Expo.”
In addition to Smith, ACT Expo 2026 will feature nearly 400 speakers addressing artificial intelligence, autonomy, connected vehicles, advanced safety technologies, and zero-emission vehicles. You can view the full list of mainstage and featured speakers here.
