NAFA’s annual conference, the Institute & Expo (I&E), is founded on the mission to educate, inform, and prepare. This year’s conference takes place in Austin, TX, April 19-22 and offers educational sessions, including “Using Clean Cities Tools to Drive Alternative Fuel Implementation.”
According to NAFA, "Using Clean Cities Tools to Drive Alternative Fuel Implementation" on Thursday, April 21, will guide attendees through the tools and resources available in the Department of Energy’s Alternative Fuels Data Center (AFDC); including the vehicle cost calculator, petroleum reduction planning tool, Idlebox toolkit, laws and incentives database, and the alternative fueling station locator. Attendees will also hear about modeling tools such as the VICE tool for natural gas and propane station development and AFLEET, which can help fleets understand simple payback and criteria and greenhouse gas emissions impacts within their operations.

This session will teach attendees how to connect with the Clean Cities program; how to reduce fuel use, costs, and emissions through driver education and training; how to document successes; and how to determine what alternative fuels may be right for their fleet according to usage and region, and what grants might be available to them to seize advantages, NAFA added.
