Austin MN-based Hormel Foods CorpÕs quarterly earnings climbed in its fiscal fourth quarter, assisted by solid numbers for its refrigerated foods branch and improvement in its turkey operation.

Hormel tallied $70.4 million, or 50 cents a share in the quarter, versus $68 million, or 49 cents, in the same period a year earlier.

The companyÕs sales advanced 13% to $1.2 billion in the fourth quarter, with quarterly volume moving up 3%.
