TransCore has introduced Credit Patrol, a credit monitoring service designed specifically for freight brokers and carriers. The new service alerts subscribers to any changes in their own credit record or that of their transportation business partners.
A change in credit score or days-to-pay can provide early warning of a business failure, and it is often the first sign of fraud or identity theft. Credit Patrol enables subscribers to monitor changes to their own credit score and days-to-pay record, or to monitor any broker or carrier on TransCore’s DAT Network, an online marketplace for freight loads and trucks.
“Many of our customers tell us that this year’s volatile economy has led to an increase in bad debt,” said David Schrader, TransCore’s senior vice-president of Freight Services. “Our new Credit Patrol service is one tool that helps them to be more vigilant about monitoring the credit records of their own customers and vendors.”
Motor carriers or freight brokers can enroll in Credit Patrol for $39 per month. The service lets them protect their companies’ reputations and assess creditworthiness of current and prospective business partners. Credit Patrol is provided by TransCore with support from TransCredit, a provider of credit information and scoring for the transportation industry.
