Klinge Corporation exhibited at the US Army’s Annual Meeting and Exhibition, held October 21-23, 2013 in Washington DC. As one of the largest global land warfare expositions, the event attracts senior representatives from the US government and military, industry leaders, and foreign dignitaries. Among these foreign dignitaries were high-ranking officials from the Danish Defense. Klinge Corp was visited by several dignitaries from the Danish Army: the Danish chief of the Army Operational Command major general; Danish Defense, Military, Naval, and Air attaché; Danish Army liaison officer to headquarters of the US Army TRADOC; military assistant to major general; deputy chief, Acquisition and Technology Branch; and the Defense, Military, Naval, and Air Attaché/Defense Industrial Cooperation assistant attaché.
Allan Klinge, vice-president and sales manager; sales associate Janeen Polas; and President Henrik Klinge provided an overview of Klinge Corp’s new transport refrigeration unit on display at the company’s booth. This reefer unit refrigerates an expandable Triple Container (Tri-Con) system, which expands from one-third the size of a normal 20-foot container to nearly the full size of a 20-ft container. Klinge Corp previously supplied the Danish Defense Material Service with an air-conditioning unit for insulated 20-ft containers. Designed to provide high reliability in extreme ambient temperature, the air-conditioning unit contained a dual refrigeration circuit system with two complete electrical systems (including thermostats) and two separate refrigeration systems to provide the highest reliability. Founded as a spin-off of the Transport Refrigeration Equipment department of York International, Klinge Corp has been producing refrigeration equipment at its manufacturing facilities and headquarters in York PA since 1984. The company’s customized designs offer commercial and military customers alternatives to standard, mass-produced refrigerated containers that often cannot meet requirements of harsh environments or stringent testing.
