Grants available to offset cost of new drayage trucks at Port of Houston

Oct. 29, 2014

The Houston-Galveston Area Council (HGAC) is hosting a Drayage Truck Event at the Port of Houston on Saturday, Nov. 1, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., to share information about available grants and loans to help truck owners replace older vehicles with new, cleaner ones.

According to the group, funds that could cover up to 80% of the cost of a new truck are available.

HGAC has worked in the past with the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) on emissions reduction efforts. The original Houston Drayage Loan Program replaced 200 of the more than 3,000 drayage trucks at the port.
