Additions to IntelliRoute and MileMaker will provide more flexibility and customization in freight rating and truck routing, Rand McNally says. In addition, the updates include more specific routing in Mexico and up-to-date U.S. zip and Canadian postal codes.
The programs include options across all routing methodologies — HHG, Practical, Dock2Dock and Lowest Cost — for trailers less than 48 ft. in length.
“Because tank truck carriers are shorter than the truckload carrier standard of 53 ft. in length, we require a truck-legal route for a shorter length trailer,” said John L. Conley, president of the National Tank Truck Carriers Assn.
There are more than 918,000 updates, including new toll roads and costs and information on rest areas and service plazas.
