Landstar activates online freight brokerage

Jacksonville, FL-based truckload operator Landstar System is launching LandstarBroker.com, a new online freight brokerage Web board to provide a variety of carriers with more search opportunities to find the right freight for their business.

This load board offers carriers a chance to select what Landstar president & CEO Henry Gerkens calls, “the right freight headed in the right direction at the right time.” Third-party capacity providers can peruse the new brokerage board for free to find a load that meets their needs, he said.

“The added bonus for these carriers will be their immediate ability to participate in our Landstar SavingsPlus program,” added Gerkens, referring to the company’s volume discount purchasing program for third-party capacity providers. No credit requirements or membership fees are required to participate in the program and the card is free, he noted.
