Volvo, Mack makes finishing ’07 engine touches

Volvo Trucks North America and Mack Trucks, both units of AB Volvo, headquartered in Gothenburg, Sweden, have announced they have filed applications with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to certify the Volvo D11, D13 and D16 engines and the Mack MP engine series to EPA 2007 emissions standards.

Volvo Trucks North America president & CEO, Peter Karlsten, said the company is on schedule “with our new engines and 2007 emissions control. Volvo’s status as the largest heavy-duty diesel manufacturer in the world has given us the resources to bring excellent new technology solutions to customers, to improve their productivity while also improving the environment. We are confident that in 2007 our customers will experience the level of fuel efficiency, reliability and operating efficiency they have come to expect from Volvo engines.”
