Fleets can manage drivers and field service personnel by exception rather than move-by-move monitoring with a new service option from @Road, a provider of subscription-based fleet management systems.
The new Exception Services uses fleet-defined rules to alert managers if mobile workers leave defined areas, remain inactive for a period of time, repeatedly return to a work site or have trouble meeting productivity standards.
Alerts generated by the service can be delivered by email, to a mobile telephone, or to a web-based notification console that displays, sorts and manages alerts as they are received. The company says it will offer the new service with a variety of its fleet management systems, including its wireless two-way real-time and next-day reporting services.
