Driver Mobbed After Fatal Pedestrian Accident

A truck driver is recovering in a Chicago hospital this morning after being beaten by a mob that witnessed a 22-year-old man was struck and killed by the driver’s vehicle. The driver was operating a heavy truck, according to pictures posted on MSNBC.com. A truck driver is recovering in a Chicago hospital this morning after being beaten by a mob that witnessed a 22-year-old man was struck and killed by the driver’s vehicle. The driver was operating a heavy truck, according to pictures posted on MSNBC.com.

The accident occurred on 51st St. at 8:42 p.m. last night when Eddie Boye was hit and pulled under the vehicle’s back tires. Witnesses on the scene pulled the driver out of the cab and attacked him. The driver suffered facial injuries and was taken to Stronger Hospital, Chicago police told Fleet Owner.

Police are investigating witnesses at the scene but no arrests have been made. The name and association of the driver has not been released at this time. No charges have been filed.
