Marangoni Tread North American has announced the completion of its expanded and upgraded tread rubber manufacturing plant in the U.S., which doubles the retreader’s domestic production capacity.

“Now, about 75% of our North American demand can be manufactured domestically,” said Bill Sweatman, president, MTNA. “In the last 14 months we’ve added six new dealer plants to our network here in the U.S., and this latest expansion should go a long way to improve our responsiveness to all of our customer needs.”

Adding manufacturing in the U.S. and expanding the business represents an investment of $10 million by the Marangoni Group. The investment, they say, is part of a longer-term global development and expansion plan, which includes expanding products, programs and manufacturing capabilities.

Marangoni has been a leader in retreading technology for over 50 years. Its Ringtread system, a splice-less precure tire tread used in retreading commercial truck tires, has been successfully used by more than 250 independent commercial truck tire retreaders worldwide, with 23 being in the U.S. and Canada.
