The International Standards Organization (ISO) has certified all the U.S. locations for international logistics and transportation provider DHL Express under its ISO 9001:2008quality standards. This came after a two-month review process conducted last year.

DHL Express – a subsidiary of Germany’s Deutche Post – said its U.S. facilities were awarded the multi-siteISO 9001:2008 certification in December after facility audits demonstrated that DHL’s quality management systems met ISO guidelines. These include conforming to customer quality and regulatory requirements, maintaining established processes for consistent service monitoring as well as continual performance improvements and enhancing overall customer satisfaction.

This follows ISO’s award of multi-site ISO 9001:2008 certification for all of DHL Express’ 31 Europe-region service centers, hubs and gateways last July.

“This certification exemplifies our commitment to ‘service excellence’ and reinforces to our customers that we vigilantly operate under rigorous standards of quality,” said Jack O’Neill, vp-operations of DHL Express U.S.

He added that accredited ISO auditors reviewed quality processes at DHL Express U.S. facilities from October through November last year, including its service centers, gateways, and main hub at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky (CVG) airport.

ISO auditors evaluated shipment handling quality processes, procedures for addressing customer concerns, adherence to defined operational procedures and regulatory compliance, and other quality processes and procedures, O‘Neill added.
