Global vehicle components supplier Wabco Holdings has announced the establishment of Wabco Reman Solutions. The new division will specialize in remanufacturing electronic and mechatronic components as well as traditional mechanical products for commercial vehicles and passenger cars.

“Wabco Reman Solutions represents an opportunity for significant growth as we will now participate in a $20 billion market which is expected to increase substantially in the coming years,” said Jacques Esculier, chairman & CEO. “Legislation around the world continues to drive higher standards for cleaner, greener vehicles, and at the same time, new commercial vehicles continue to increase their electronic and mechatronic applications as technologies for safety and control systems further advance.”

The company will serve OEM and Tier One suppliers initially in Europe and North America. Expansion into Asia is expected in the future. Wabco Reman Solutions will remanufacture Wabco components as well as ‘fully connect with original equipment producers to remanufacture their components, further extending WABCO’s market reach,” the company said.

The company will operate as part of Wabco’s aftermarket organization with remanufacturing facilities in Stanowice, Poland, and Rochester Hills, MI. Both factories are expected to be operational by September.

Joe Kripli will serve as enterprise leader and Mike Dojcinovski as operations leader. Kripli has 30 years of remanufacturing experience and is president-elect of the Automotive Parts Remanufacturers Assn.

“Wabco Reman Solutions is powered by highly experienced leadership comprising senior managers with deep understanding of the remanufacturing business,” said Nick Rens, vp, aftermarket & trailer systems. Our reman team strongly combines with Wabco’s industry-leading capabilities as a global manufacturer of complex vehicle control systems. We have an outstanding initial response from major customers as they value innovation and quality to support them in their evolving remanufacturing strategies.”
