Wyoming residents want truck ban on Teton Pass

Residents of Teton County Wyoming are seeking a ban on semis on the Teton Pass until transportation officials can ensure the safety of the steep mountain pass in the northwest of the state. The residents are asking for stiffer fines for overweight trucks, a new runaway truck ramp and a manned weigh station on the west side of the pass to help prevent accidents.

Residents of Teton County, WY, are seeking a ban on semis on the Teton Pass until transportation officials can ensure the safety of the steep mountain pass in the northwest of the state.

The residents are asking for stiffer fines for overweight trucks, a new runaway truck ramp and a manned weigh station on the west side of the pass to help prevent accidents.

The Wyoming Dept. of Transportation is taking public comments about how Highways 22 and 390 function and what residents want to see in the corridor in coming years.

The Jackson Hole News & Guide reports the study is supposed to map out projects on the heavily trafficked roads between Jackson, Grand Teton National Park and the Idaho border.
