Bay Area tolls now part of BESTPASS network

Feb. 25, 2014

BESTPASS has announced that toll bridges operated by the Bay Area Toll Authority (BATA) are now participating in its network. BATA manages state-owned toll bridges which include the Antioch, Benicia-Martinez, Carquinez, Dumbarton, Richmond-San Rafael, San Francisco-Oakland Bay and San Mateo-Hayward bridges.

The partnership allows BESTPASS customers to incur tolls on BATA facilities without the use of an additional transponder, which creates simplicity at several levels, BESTPASS said. Service and support, along with vehicle registration, will be provided by BESTPASS. In addition, all BATA toll usage is incorporated into a single invoice, which combines close to 29 tolling authorities made up of over 92 facilities. The BATA facilities are included at no additional service fee cost to all BESTPASS customers.

With the assistance of Prime Inc., BESTPASS is currently testing facility integration with the BATA.  General rollout to their customers is expected in March of 2014.

“We began using BESTPASS two years ago and immediately realized significant savings with respect to all areas of toll management. We are thrilled to see them expand their service area and are glad we can help,” said Shaun Ryker of Prime.

“The addition of BATA on the heels of our recently added services in Colorado is moving BESTPASS one step closer to its goal of providing a national solution to commercial carriers,” said John Andrews, president and CEO of BESTPASS. “Judging by the enthusiasm we are hearing from our clients and prospects, we look forward to bringing on additional facilities as rapidly as we can.”
