Perdue Farms has signed an agreement with the US Army Partnership for Youth Success (PaYS) program. This program will provide Perdue Farms with a source of highly qualified applicants for potential employment following their military service. The partnership was formalized in Salisbury MD during a memorandum of understanding signing ceremony at Perdue headquarters.
“We’re thrilled about our new partnership with the US Army PaYS program,” said Lester Gray, senior vice-president of operations. “We see the partnership as a great way to reach candidates with the leadership skills and high professional standards that we value. As a new partner, we take this commitment very seriously and are excited to provide viable job opportunities to the men and women who have served our country.”
The PaYS program was developed by the US Army Recruiting Command in 2000 to guarantee a soldier an interview with a PaYS partner employer once he or she re-enters the civilian workforce. PaYS soldiers are guaranteed a job interview with a PaYS partner of their choice after completing their training or first term of military service. Soldiers who participate in the program gain leadership, valuable technical skills and experience.
Baltimore Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel Vanessa Moye says the PaYS program is just one more valuable benefit the Army provides soldiers in order to enhance their career and ultimately the strength of the nation.
“Our PaYS partners benefit from gaining professional employees who have developed exceptional work habits and have been held to the highest standards of conduct. Likewise, the Army benefits by gaining valuable industry partners who acknowledge the Army as a quality producer of skilled employees,” said Moye. “It’s a great incentive for our soldiers, and we are proud to have Perdue Farms join us in providing opportunities for a lifetime of success.”
