The LongMile diesel particulate filter from Cleaire Advanced Emission Controls has been verified as a Level 3+ unit for on-road applications by the California Air Resources Board (CARB). The Level 3+ designation means the LongMile has successfully demonstrated diesel particulate matter (PM) emissions reductions of greater than 85% while meeting the NO2 emission standard, noted the company.

“This highly anticipated milestone for LongMile demonstrates Cleaire’s on-going commitment to developing innovative, reliable and cost-effective diesel particulate filter (DPF) technology for the vast majority of pre-2007 diesel engines,” said Gale Plummer, CEO.

“Rather than prematurely replace good equipment to comply with regulations and clean air initiatives, retrofitting with a DPF enables vehicle and fleet managers to achieve 2007/2010 PM emission levels at a much lower cost,” Plummer added.

Verification also means the device is eligible for government incentive programs. It can be installed on 1993 through 2006 model-year engines from 5.3 to 16 liters.
