INDIANAPOLIS. Navistar officially rolled out a 4x4 version of its TerraStar medium-duty truck here at the National Truck Equipment Assn. (NTEA) Work Truck Show – a vehicle Navistar launched last year under its International truck badge with only a standard 4x2 powertrain.

“With the addition of a 4x4 model, the TerraStar is poised to win over an even broader range of customers with more severe demands,” said Jim Hebe, Navistar’s senior vice president-North American sales operations, during a press conference here.

Hebe also pointed out that Navistar is offering a broader range of alternative fueled vehicles for the work truck market, including the Class 2-3c all-electric eStar truck, plus a medium-duty International DuraStar Hybrid, and International WorkStar model equipped with a compressed natural gas powertrain, all on display at NTEA’s annual conference.

“Work truck customers have diverse business needs and are looking for a wide range of truck features to help perform their jobs,” Hebe said. “We’re proud to offer the broadest, most energy-efficient line of trucks in the industry, helping deliver real-world savings to the bottom line.”
