The National Association of Environmental Professions (NAEP) has named OPS-1, the onboard oil refining system from Oil Purification Systems, as its "Best Available Environmental Technology" for 2009
NAEP said it selected OPS-1 based on its ability to help fleet owners reduce oil consumption, cut oil maintenance costs and extend equipment life while minimizing the negative effects to the environment.
"We are pleased to recognize a product like the OPS-1 system that is demonstrating excellence environmental improvements," said Robert Cunningham, NAEP awards committee chairman. "Oil Purification Systems has displayed, with noted results, an innovative method to reduce oil consumption and provide significant environmental impact, all while helping trucking fleet operators save money."
OPS-1 removes solid and liquid contaminants from engine oil, virtually eliminating the need for routine oil changes, OPS said.
