CALSTART workshop to “jumpstart” natural-gas use in transportation

A CALSTART workshop set for next Thursday. Nov. 18th in Downey CA will aim to connect natural gas providers, distributors and vehicle fleet operators with the stated goal of “jumpstarting” the use of “renewable natural gas” (RNG) as a transportation fuel. The program, to be held jointly by CALSTART and Southern California Gas Co. , will also feature representatives from sponsors Clean Energy, O’Melveny and Myers, San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District, and Westport Innovations

A CALSTART workshop set for next Thursday. The program, to be held jointly by CALSTART and Southern California Gas Co. , will also feature representatives from sponsors Clean Energy, O’Melveny and Myers, San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District, and Westport Innovations.

The workshop will be held at the Southern California Gas Co. Energy Research Center, 9420 Firestone Blvd, Downey, CA.

Industry experts slated to speak include CALSTART’CEO John Boesel; Ron Goodman, Southern California Gas; Jim Boyd and Peter Ward, California Energy Commission; Marianne Mintz, Argonne National Lab; and Chris Cassidy, USDA.

The focus on transportation will be covered by John Drayton, LA Metro; Catherine Dunwoody, Hydrogen Fuel Cell Partnership; Steve Ellis, American Honda; Mike Gallagher, Westport Innovations; and, Larry Wnuk, CALSTART.

Experts on production will include Harrison Clay, Clean Energy; Steve Eckhardt, Linde Group; Bill Liss, GTI; and, Bill Zobel, Trillium.

Rounding out the lineup will be end users Omar Maghaddam, City of Los Angeles; Paul Relis, CR&R; and, Chuck White, Waste Management.
