Citing increased demand for its natural-gas system for Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana cargo vans, Impco Automotive has increased production at its Union City, IN facility.

Production of the systems began earlier this year at the 75,000 sq. ft. facility. The plant is capable of bi-fuel and dedicated liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), and bi-fuel and dedicated compressed natural gas (CNG) systems.

“We are proud to have launched the Chevrolet/GMC CNG van project in close cooperation with GM in record time," said Rob Lykins, IMPCO Automotive director of sales and marketing. "Fleet customers now have the opportunity to purchase the industry's best CNG cargo van through any Chevrolet or GMC dealer. We have worked diligently with GM over the past eight months to design and test this vehicle to GM's highest safety, durability and reliability standards, including crash testing.”

Impco recently received an order for 101 Chevrolet Express 2500 cargo vans from AT&T.

Each Express or Savana CNG van is covered by GM's 3-yr./36,000-mi. new vehicle limited warranty and 5-yr./100,000-mi. limited powertrain warranty. The vehicles include GM’s Vortec 6L hardened V8.

Impco is a subsidiary of Fuel System Solutions.
