Ashland Consumer Markets (Valvoline) and Cummins Filtration have forged a new alliance to package, market and distribute diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) in North America . DEF is a urea-based liquid required for selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems used to meet 2010 Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) diesel engine emissions regulations.
Fleetguard-Valvoline Air Shield DEF will be offered through both the Cummins and Valvoline distribution channels in the U.S. and Canada beginning in April, the companies said. It will be packaged in one-gallon and 2.5-gallon bottles, drums and totes.
The 2.5 gallon package features a vented bottle that can be entirely dispensed in less than 30 seconds, making it fast and easy to use, the companies noted. Air Shield meets ISO 22241 specifications. Compatible with all SCR systems, Air Shield DEF is also API- and AdBlue-certified.
