Freightliner Trucks has announced its Business Class M2e hybrid truck will be available for commercial application rentals

Freightliner Trucks has announced its Business Class M2e hybrid truck will be available for commercial application rentals at Seattle and Kent, WA-based International Leasing Co., Inc.

The Class 6 hybrid features a diesel engine coupled with an electric motor/generator and batteries, which enables operation with electric or diesel power separately or together, the company said.

"Choosing the Freightliner Business Class M2e gives International Leasing Co. Inc., the opportunity to give our customers what they have asked for: best in class visibility, maneuverability and a diesel-electric hybrid powertrain that will drastically cut emissions while lowering fuel consumption by approximately 40%," said Todd Daniels, fleet manager for International Leasing.
