New approvals for converting Ford models to propane

Dec. 2, 2013

Alliance AutoGas said it has received additional approvals from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to install is Prins VSI system on Ford 2012 and 2013 models.

The Prins VSI converts conventional gasoline vehicles to run on propane autogas. Ten Ford models can now be converted. They are:

  • 5.0L Ford F-150 Pickup 2WD and 4WD, 2013 and 2012 model years
  • 6.2L Ford F250 Pickup 2WD and 4WD, 2013 and 2012 model years
  • 6.2L Ford F250 Bed Delete 2WD and 4WD, 2013 and 2012 model years
  • 6.2L Ford F350 Pickup 2WD and 4WD, 2013 and 2012 model years
  • 6.2L Ford F350 Bed Delete 2WD and 4WD, 2013 and 2012 model years

The 6.2L is available from Ford with a gaseous fuel prep package, making the engine more durable while operating on LPG.

“These certifications give our Alliance members broad coverage with the F-series fleet,” said Stuart Weidie, president. “Once we complete the 6.8L testing in progress, we will have a wide range of F-series vehicles. Our certifications are coming in at a rapid rate and we continue to build our support and training network throughout the country.”
