C.R. England has opened a new IdleAir facility for drivers at its terminal in Laredo, TX. The 24-space facility provides drivers with in-cab services that provide heating and air conditioning, Internet connectivity, television, and 110-volt electrical, completely eliminating the need for idling.
IdleAir said it developed a customized facility designed around the needs of C.R. England and its operation at the Laredo terminal. C.R. England received a customized turnkey package of IdleAir services and support.
“The Laredo terminal is a key operating hub in the C.R. England network,” said David Akers, president of C.R. England’s Mexico Division. “Hundreds of trucks roll through this terminal each week. The extreme heat in Laredo during several months of the year make tractor idling inevitable. Making in-terminal IdleAir available to our drivers and independent contractors creates multiple efficiencies through reduction of fuel-burn, optimization of drivers’ hours of service, and reduction of carbon footprint.”
“We are proud to count C.R. England as a fuel saving partner,” said Ethan Garber, IdleAir CEO. “As the largest temperature-controlled carrier in the world C.R. England continues to lead the industry by utilizing IdleAir to increase efficiency and environmental sustainability. In 2013, IdleAir helped our trucking partners eliminate $4.5 million in idle related expenses, and we look forward to delivering more savings to C.R. England in the years to come.”
