Peterbilt Motors Co. will display the newest additions to its lineup of natural-gas powered trucks– CNG-fueled configurations of the on-highway Model 579 and the vocational Model 567– during the ACT (Alternative Clean Transportation) Expo, to be held at the Long Beach (CA) Convention Center from May 5-8.
The OEM revealed the two new configurations in March at the Mid-America Trucking Show. Both vehicles are powered by Cummins-Westport ISX12 G natural-gas engines.
Both truck models to be displayed at the Pete booth (#357) are day cabs equipped with Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies’ back-of-cab fuel storage system.
“Peterbilt leads the heavy duty commercial vehicle industry with the broadest range of natural gas engine and fuel system offerings,” said Robert Woodall, director of sales & marketing.
“Adding our two new landmark vehicles – the Model 579 and Model 567 – to this portfolio will provide our natural-gas customers with the industry’s most innovative, advanced vehicles with new state-of-the-art CNG systems,” he added.
