• National diesel and gas prices on the rise

    Diesel and gas prices rose to $3.572 and $3.139, respectively.

    Diesel prices saw a major surge this week, while gasoline prices rose less significantly. According to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on June 17, the national average on-highway diesel price rose 10 cents to $3.571. Gas prices rose 3 cents to $3.139. 

    What are the current diesel prices across the U.S.?

    Here are this week’s diesel price highlights from each region of the U.S.:

    • Midwest: The biggest rise in diesel prices was in the Midwest with an increase of 11 cents to $3.537.
    • Gulf Coast: Along the Gulf Coast, diesel prices increased 10 cents to $3.212.
    • East Coast: There was a 10 cent increase in diesel prices on the East Coast region to $3.621.
    • West Coast: Along the West Coast, diesel prices increased 9 cents to $4.130. Without including California, diesel prices rose 14 cents to $3.902.
    • Rocky Mountain: Diesel prices in the Rockies increased 7 cents to $3.548.

    According to AAA Motor Club, the current national diesel price average is $3.567. This is 0.4 cents lower than EIA’s current estimate and 20 cents lower than this time last year.

    What are the current gasoline prices across the U.S.?

    The current national average on-highway gasoline price is $3.139, according to EIA, 3 cents higher than last week’s average. 

    Here are this week’s gasoline price highlights from each region of the U.S.:

    • Midwest: The biggest rise in gasoline prices was in the Midwest with an increase of 6 cents to $3.026.
    • East Coast: In the East Coast region, gas prices increased 3 cents to $2.983.
    • Rocky Mountain: Gas prices increased 3 cents to $3.114 in the Rockies.
    • Gulf Coast: Along the Gulf Coast, gas prices increased 2 cents to $2.735.
    • West Coast: Along the West Coast, gas prices decreased 3 cents to $4.127. Without including California, gas prices off the West Coast remained stagnant at $3.800. 

    According to AAA, the current national gasoline price average is $3.167. This is 3 cents higher than EIA’s current estimate and 28 cents lower than this time last year.
