  • Gulf Coast: This week, the Gulf Coast saw the biggest drop in diesel prices, falling 7 cents to $3.299.
  • Midwest: In the Midwest, diesel prices dropped 6 cents to $3.606.
  • West Coast: Along the West Coast, diesel prices dropped 4 cents to $4.464. Without including California, diesel prices dropped 4 cents to $4.052.
  • East Coast: Along the East Coast, diesel prices dropped 1 cent to $3.721.
  • Rocky Mountain: In the Rockies, diesel prices dropped 1 cent to $3.658.

According to AAA Motor Club (AAA), the current national diesel price average is $3.655. This is the same as EIA’s current estimate and 5 cents higher than this time last year.

The current national average on-highway gasoline price is $3.061, according to EIA, 6 cents lower than last week’s average. 

Here are this week’s gasoline price highlights from each region of the U.S.:

  • Midwest: This week, the Midwest saw the biggest drop in gasoline prices, falling 12 cents to $2.812.
  • Gulf Coast: In the Gulf Coast, gas prices dropped 10 cents to $2.623.
  • East Coast: Along the East Coast, gas prices dropped 3 cents to $2.952.
  • Rocky Mountain: In the Rockies, gas prices dropped 2 cents to $3.049. 
  • West Coast: Along the West Coast, gas prices dropped 1 cent to $4.213. Without including California, gas prices dropped 3 cents to $3.949.

According to AAA, the current national gasoline price average is $3.067. This is 1 cent higher than EIA’s current estimate and 14 cents lower than this time last year. 

In a recent press release, AAA said, “According to the Energy Information Administration, demand for gasoline has fallen to a four-month low, contributing to the continued decline in pump prices. With the third quarter of 2025 ending in higher gasoline inventories and the seasonal transition from summer-grade to winter-grade fuel, consumers are likely to see even lower prices at the pump in the coming weeks.”
