Bollinger Motors delivers first Bollinger B4 all-electric trucks to the West Coast
Bollinger Motors made its first West Coast customer delivery of three 2025 Bollinger B4 Chassis Cabs to TEC Equipment dealerships on Oct. 30. With the West Coast spearheading the adoption of electric vehicles, Bollinger Motors believes the delivery of these trucks to the region is significant.
“The West Coast represents a critical region of the country for electric vehicle success, and today’s deliveries to TEC Equipment are significant steps forward for Bollinger Motors,” Jim Connelly, chief revenue officer for Bollinger Motors, said. “TEC Equipment is a well-respected dealer and an important partner for our West Coast success.”
The delivery took place just six weeks after production began on the all-electric Class 4 chassis on Sept. 16. This follows the Oct. 3 delivery of the first five Bollinger B4s, purchased by Nacarato Truck Centers in LaVergne, Tennessee.

TEC Equipment has made history as the first West Coast-based dealer to receive the B4. The dealerships that received the trucks are located in Lacey, Washington; Fontana, California; and Oakland, California.
"This is an exciting moment for TEC Equipment as we help bring the newest OEM in the trucking industry to market,” said Chris Thompson, TEC Equipment's vice president of truck sales.
Bollinger B4: The new OEM’s first production model
The Bollinger B4 is the first vehicle produced by the EV startup-turned-OEM nearly a decade since its founding. Bollinger designed the B4 cabover chassis from the ground up. The chassis design—with the battery pack and essential components placed between the frame rails—protects vulnerable pieces of equipment to offer capability and safety in the commercial market, Bollinger stated in a press release.
The Bollinger B4 helps meet a need within fleets looking to electrify their operations. While light-duty electric vehicles are widely available in Classes 1-3, and heavy-duty electric vehicles are currently available in Classes 7 and 8, fleet owners have fewer electric options in the medium-duty electric vehicle segment—especially with Class 4 and 5 vehicles.
This could be one reason why Mullen Automotive, a light-duty EV manufacturer that purchased a controlling interest in Bollinger Motors in 2022, decided to invest in the company. After all, the goal of the acquisition was to “propel [Mullen] into the medium-duty truck Class 3-6,” the company stated in a press release.
On its road to becoming an OEM, Bollinger Motors has passed multiple milestones including:
- California Air and Resources Board certification
- Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards compliance
- Certificate of Conformity from the Environmental Protection Agency
The company has received multiple orders for its Bollinger B4, including:
- 145 vehicle sale to Momentum Group
- 70 vehicle sale to Doering Fleet Management
- 50 vehicle sale to EnviroCharge
It has also secured dealership support and service partnerships with:
- TEC Equipment
- Affinity Truck Center
- Nacarato Truck Centers
- Nuss Truck & Equipment
- LaFontaine Automotive Group
- Amerit Fleet Solutions
The total retail value of the three Bollinger B4s delivered to TEC Equipment dealerships is nearly $500,000. The 2025 Bollinger B4 Chassis Cab, with a retail price of $158,758, is qualified for federal clean vehicle tax credits under the Inflation Reduction Act of $40,000 per vehicle. Additional state incentives can push total savings to an excess of $100,000.
