Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) says it is now within reach of building a production-line truck capable of attaining fur consumption rates of 10 miles per gallon (mpg). That confidence stems from a pre-production version of its new 2014 model Cascadia Evolution couple to a aerodynamically modified trailer crafted by DTNA engineers that recently averaged 9.31 mpg on a cross-country highway run pulling 76,000 pounds at 62 mph.
