Key takeaways

  • Greenlane achieved SOC 2 Type 2 compliance, verifying fleet charging data and platform security during a year-long audit.
  • Security controls cover digital platforms and physical sites, protecting driver safety, fleet data, and operational integrity.
  • Enterprise fleet operators gain independent assurance of reliability, transparency, and secure EV charging infrastructure.

Greenlane recently completed its Systems and Organization Controls (SOC) Type 2 examination and report, covering the period from December 1, 2024, through November 30, 2025.

The company, which also maintains SOC 1 compliance, had its security controls independently examined by Boulay PLLP in accordance with standards by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). The examination validated that Greenlane’s security measures were suitably designed and effectively operating over nearly a year, covering the Greenlane Fleet Portal, Greenlane Driver App, and Greenlane OnRamp APIs.

Greenlane’s platform protects fleet data, including charging history, billing information, vehicle telematics integrations, and reservation activity for medium- and heavy-duty electric fleets. Security controls reviewed included logical access, change management, risk assessment, incident response, and continuous system monitoring. The platform runs on Microsoft Azure, with controls evaluated at both the application and cloud infrastructure levels.

Physical charging sites also follow strict security protocols. Sites feature gated access-controlled entrances, full-time hosts trained in first aid, around-the-clock security staffing, site-wide cameras, outdoor lighting, and safety equipment, including first aid kits, defibrillators, and fire extinguishers. Drivers have access to 24/7 live customer support via a dedicated phone line.

Greenlane continues expanding its commercial EV charging network along high-traffic freight corridors, including the I-15 connecting California to Nevada and the I-10 extending from California to Arizona, with the SOC 2 Type 2 report providing enterprise fleet operators with confidence in the security and reliability of the network.

"When fleet operators integrate with our platform, they're trusting us with data that is central to how their business runs," said Raj Jhaveri, chief technology officer of Greenlane. "The SOC 2 Type 2 examination gave us the opportunity to validate every layer of our security architecture against an independent, rigorous standard. That scrutiny makes us better, and it gives our customers the technical assurance they need to build on our platform with confidence."
