Averitt is deploying battery-powered electric yard tractors at service centers across Tennessee as part of its sustainability efforts supported by the state’s Medium- and Heavy-Duty Vehicles Grant Program. The initiative includes 10 TICO electric yard tractors and associated charging infrastructure at key locations across the state to test operational efficiency and impact.

EzFill adds Gainesville distribution hub to Florida mobile fleet fueling network
NextNRG recently expanded its EzFill mobile fueling operations into Gainesville, Florida, servicing a major distribution facility through its Jacksonville hub. The company, which provides AI-driven energy and mobile fueling services, is extending its Florida network to increase high-volume delivery density and operational efficiency.

Bendix expands solar power capacity at Acuña manufacturing plant in Mexico
Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems recently expanded its solar energy system at its Acuña, Mexico, manufacturing facility, adding more than 230 kWp of capacity at Plant 4. The company, which manufactures braking systems, air treatment components, and integrated vehicle modules, said the expansion increases renewable generation and supports emissions reduction goals aligned with its parent company, Knorr-Bremse.
“It’s the next practical step that strengthens the site and supports our broader climate goals,” Maria Gutierrez, global head of HSE for Knorr-Bremse’s CVS division, said. “It also reflects how we’re approaching this work—measurable progress, tied to clear targets, and integrated with operations on the ground.”
The expanded system is expected to generate about 1.3 million kWh annually and avoid additional CO2 emissions, building on multiple solar installations across the Acuña campus that now collectively serve as a model for integrating renewable energy into manufacturing operations. Read more…
