As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to squeeze the industry, Mack Trucks is providing relief to customers by extending its GuardDog Connect uptime service and support bundle at no cost through the end of the year or a minimum of three months, whichever is longer, the OEM said. This is applicable for customers with packages expiring from May 1 to Dec. 31, 2020.

The bundle includes the fully integrated GuardDog Connect telematics solution, the 24/7 roadside assistance service called OneCall, and ASIST, a web-based management service to help fleets and drivers coordinate repairs and improve uptime. Any Mack Over-the-Air (OTA) software updates for the powertrain and vehicle parameters will be included over the length of the extension. Driver-initiated OTA updates will be available in Q4 2020.

“Mack Trucks knows how difficult times are during the global coronavirus pandemic, and we wanted to provide our customers additional support,” said David Pardue, Mack Trucks vice president of connected vehicle and uptime services. “We hope that extending our uptime service bundle for no charge to the customer will help them continue to more easily receive access to our best-in-class support.”

Volvo Trucks North America, also owned by the Volvo Group, has a similar program for its customers.

Through a through Mack Financial Services program, Canadian customers will also be able to make competitive Fair Market Value (FMV) lease payments on 2019 or 2020 Anthem 70-inch sleeper models on eligible vehicles retailed prior to Sep. 30, 2020.
