Hendrickson acquires Brunner

Oct. 5, 2023
The truck suspension maker acquired Brunner for its brake shoe and s-cam products. The Brunner brand will be maintained, and its employees will work under Hendrickson.

Commercial vehicle suspension provider Hendrickson has acquired Brunner International based in Medina, New York, and Brunner Manufacturing and Sales based in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. Brunner is a privately owned business that manufactures components for the commercial vehicle, bus, and trailer markets, Hendrickson stated in a release.

Brunner’s primary product lines include brake shoes and s-cams, which, according to Hendrickson, complement its design and manufacture of suspension systems for the medium- and heavy-duty truck and trailer markets.

The Brunner product brand will be kept and used going forward.  Brunner will operate as a division of Hendrickson Brake and Wheel End, and its approximately 325 employees will become employees of Hendrickson.

“We are excited about this acquisition, as it will provide a platform for Hendrickson to expand our core competency in braking and provide additional components that will enhance our existing product portfolio,” said Matt Joy, Hendrickson president and CEO. “We look forward to working with our new associates and strengthening our business serving the Commercial Truck and Trailer industry.”
