Xantrex Technology has released the Freedom HW 1000 inverter/charger, a compact and inexpensive power source designed for commercial vehicle OEMs, the company said.

According to Xantrex, the inverter/charger will allow OEMs to offer their customers clean and quiet useable power without the need to run a gas-powered generator or idle the engine when operating appliances onboard the vehicle.

The invertor/charger weighs 10 lbs., providing 1000 watts of AC power. It also includes a microprocessor-controlled 55 amp charger with a detachable remote, Xantrex said.
