Brake pad line expanded

Federal-Mogul has expanded its line of Abex brake pads to include specially formulated pads for modern air brake systems, the company announced.

The air-disc brake pads include cast iron backplate technology to ensure a secure bond between pad material and backplate while reducing the risk of corrosion in a lighter-weight design., said Federal-Mogul. The pads also incorporate a molded friction V-groove to dissipate heat and eliminate excessive stress.

Braking power, pad life and rotor wear is improved due to application-engineering friction formulations, the company pointed out. The pads, which ship as complete sets with installation hardware kits, are compatible with anti-lock braking and electronic stability systems.
