Kenworth Truck Co. has posted on its website a four-minute clip highlighting the Kenworth Clean Power no-idle system available as an option on T660 models with 72-in AeroCab sleepers. According to the company, the system offers fleets a number of benefits including enhanced fuel economy, increased driver comfort and reduced emissions.
Kenworth Clean Power uses dedicated, advanced deep-cycle batteries that power a thermal storage cooler with 21,000 BTUs of cooling capacity. Once the truck’s engine is shut down, a thermostat regulates the desired temperature and a variable speed fan circulates chilled air through a duct located near the bunk, the manufacturer explained. For dual bunk set-ups, a second duct is available that keeps the upper bunk area cool.
“The addition of the Kenworth Clean Power video to the Kenworth Web site makes it very easy for customers to learn more about the features and benefits of this revolutionary system,” said Jeff Sass, Kenworth marketing planning director. The video can be viewed by going to www.kenworth.com, and clicking on “Watch the Video” located on the right side of the homepage.
