Cole Hersee Co. has introduced the Smart battery isolator 48525 and 48530, which prevents loads on the auxiliary battery from draining the starting battery, the company said.

According to Cole Hersee, the Smart battery isolator is not specific to an alternator and is smaller, lighter and generates less heat than competitive products while lowering the strain on charging components for extended product life.

Available in 85A and 200A versions, the battery isolator also allows bi-directional charging from alternator or from other power chargers/converters, the company said. It also features an LED status indicator and operational start assist.
