Fork lift safety has been improved with the new Rite-Vu Light Communication System, Rite-Hite said. The system is designed to warn dock workers when a forklift is in operation inside a trailer, reducing the likelihood of a forklift-pedestrian collision.

The system utilizes highly visible lights to warn when a forklift is inside a trailer. It also encompasses lights and an alarm to enhance communication about the status of trailer secured to the dock with Rite-Hite’s Dok-Lok vehicle restraints, adding a level of protection against trailer-separation accidents.

"Unlike other systems used to guard against forklift-pedestrian collisions, Rite-Vu is the first and only technology to address the issue in one of the most dangerous areas of the facility – the loading dock," Joe Manone, vp, said. "The system takes communication and safety at the dock to a whole new level by providing clear visual communication to the right person, at the right time, and at exactly the right location."
