Goodyear Tire & Rubber has developed four load range E light-truck commercial tires using its new Armor Max Technology: two all-position tires and two drive tires.
The all-position radials are the Unisteel G949 RSA for regional highway and city street use, and the Unisteel G947 RSS for package-delivery applications. Available for steer or free-rolling positions, the G949 features steel body construction and a tread pattern geared for good weather traction, according to Goodyear. The G947 has scrub-resistant compounds and raised sidewall protectors to help resist damage.
Developed for heavy pickups, delivery vans and trucks up to 14,000 lb. GVW, the new drive tires are the Unisteel G933 RSD and the Unisteel G971. The G933 was designed for urban streets and highway applications; the G971 was designed for off-road applications. www.goodyear.com
