Dometic Environmental Corp. today announced it received a U.S. patent covering its auxiliary air conditioning systems for truck sleepers.

Specifically, it covers a “split system” design, which consists of a condensing unit mounted outside the truck and an evaporator/condense/blower unit installed inside the vehicle, with “quick connect” refrigerant linesets.

The two units are precharched with refrigerant at the factory to ensure the entire system is automatically charged to the correct pressure when the linesets are connected, Dometic said.
