All Hino Trucks engines have been given a certification of conformity from the EPA and California Air Resources Board (CARB) for meeting 2010 emissions regulations, the company announced. In addition, Hino said it has expanded its engine warranty program to cover additional items.

Hino’s engines use selective catalytic reduction (SCR) to meet the 2010 emissions requirement.

“The Earth does not take credits and it is a core value of Hino Trucks to be socially responsible,” said Glenn Ellis, vp-marketing & dealer operations. “In addition to meeting the emissions requirement without the use of credits, our 2011 model year trucks will see a fuel economy improvement. By choosing Hino Trucks, our customers are choosing the cleanest, highest rated engine in the conventional medium-duty market.”

Hino has expanded its standard engine warranty to 5 yrs./250,000 mi. All items previously covered by past engine warranties are still covered, the company said. In addition, coverage on fuel injectors, the fuel injection supply pump and the turbocharger have been added.
