The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. has introduced a new trailer tire deploying the company’s DuraSeal technology. The Unisteel G316 LHT represents Goodyear’s first adaptation of the self-sealing feature to over-the-road tires.

DuraSeal technology uses a gel-like substance built into the tire’s inner liner to instantly seal punctures created by objects that are up to ¼-in. diameter, providing they occur in the repairable tread area.

The G316 LHT features an all-steel four-belt package, as well as an “innovative pressure distribution groove to help resist shoulder wear.” The tire, which supports a 12/32nd-inch tread, is also available in a fuel-efficient version using Fuel Max Technology.
