Nitro-Glide has announced it is now offering what it terms an “extremely cost-effective new suspension component for Freightliner tractors” that will “affect and control the tractor from front headlight to the rear taillight.” It is designed to replace the twin-tube conventional shock absorber with a new “state of the art Mono-Tube/Hi-Pressure gas shock absorber.”

According to the North Chicago, IL-based company, its aftermarket Mono-Tube/Hi-Pressure shock will provide “triple tread life, 19% fuel savings and reduce ‘vibration’ 70%” on tractor-trailers.” Nitro-Glide said it views vehicle vibration as “ a cancer damaging and destroying the tractor from the front head-light to the rear tail-light,” substantially shortening tractor -trailer life and that steering wheel vibration is “deleterious to the driver, resulting in stress and injury.”

Nitro-Glide also said its product will “positively stop and reverse ‘cupping’ and ‘river-wear’ with the tire wear ‘flattening-out’ in every case reported.” In addition, the company said stability, control and safety are “greatly enhanced” as stopping distance “on ice, snow, wet and dry pavement is shortened considerably” and “roll-over from wind and maneuvering are remarkably reduced.”

Nitro-Glide said it offers a 30-day money-back guarantee and a 500,000-mi. warranty on this product. It noted it presently only has the Mono-Tube/Hi-Pressure gas shock absorber available for use on Freightliner tractors and will announce when it is available for other makes.
