Kustom Cooling Products has released a line of 100% aluminum radiators and a/c condensers for 2007 and newer engines designed specifically for Freightliner trucks.

The KCP product line is for the Freightliner Cascadia, Columbia and Century. Radiators and condensers for the Volvo VN, International ProStar, and Mack Vision will be released later this year.

The KCP radiators and a/c condensers are 100% aluminum including the core, side supports and tanks. The core utilizes a “fully patented wavy style fin built in a bar and plate configuration.” The all aluminum configuration has several advantages over plastic tank or copper brass replacement, the company said.

According to the company, the design flexibility as a result of working with only one type of metal eliminates tube to header joint failures.

“The No. 1 failure on current production Freightliner fleet trucks is the radiator and a/c condensers. Plastic tanks are intended for automotive applications, not heavy duty trucks,” said Harold Bettencourt, CEO. “When the typical fleet is replacing these items every 100,000–150,000 mi. and the only aftermarket option is copper/brass, there is a huge void KCP is happy to fill.”
