Two new models of air hammers have been added to the Max line by Ingersoll Rand. The 118Max long barrel and 122Max short barrel join the company’s family of vibration-reducing air hammers.

“Ingersoll Rand is excited to introduce the 118Max and 122Max vibration-reduced air hammers to the Max family lineup,” said Nate Schmid, marketing manager for vehicle services with Ingersoll Rand. “There’s a lot of innovation built into the new Max air hammers, and the increased power coupled with significantly reduced vibration and noise during operation is definitely going to change the way technicians work.”

The air hammers feature an anti-vibration design which reduces tool vibration by 30% compared to standard air hammers, Ingersoll Rand said. They also reduce noise output and include an ergonomic grip while producing 15% more force per impact than standard air hammers, the company said.

Designed with high-volume fabrication and prep work in mind, the tool features a new quick-change retainer that reduces wear, and allows for faster chisel changeovers for increased productivity. In addition, each of the tools is offered in a kit that includes a blow molded case and 5-piece chisel set.
